WHAT ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS?

Porcelain veneers are a fast method for enhancing your smile and hiding chipped, crooked, decayed, or stained teeth. Contemporary Dental Health The Center for Advanced Dentistry offers this highly customized treatment. Veneers are slim shells made of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth to enhance their color, size, shape, or length. Make an appointment at our Lake Oswego, OR office to learn more about custom porcelain veneers and how they can reshape your smile.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM PORCELAIN VENEERS?

After we’ve helped you develop your unique treatment plan, we will take impressions of your teeth. Your veneers may be created in our office as you wait, or your impressions may be sent to a dental laboratory to be made with high-quality porcelain. When your veneers are ready, we will take a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth. This allows room for the veneers and enhances their bond for more natural, long-lasting results. When your veneers are secured, we will make minor adjustments to ensure proper fit.

Getting veneers does not typically require anesthesia so you should be able to go right back to your daily routine. You may have sensitivity to hot and cold foods and drinks for a couple of days. Veneers should be cared for just like your own teeth with regular brushing and flossing. Porcelain veneers are more resistant to stains than your natural teeth, but you should avoid staining foods and drinks to keep them white. To prevent chipping, avoid chewing on hard objects, like ice. We’ll track the condition of your veneers during your regular appointments at Contemporary Dental Health The Center for Advanced Dentistry.
